COUNSELOR/THERAPIST

Centers for Children and Families, Inc. (Centers) is seeking a full time licensed Counselor or Counselor Intern. Counselors with specific training/interest in play therapy is a plus. Centers is a non-profit, outpatient counseling agency with offices in both Midland and Odessa, Texas. Centers offers mental, emotional and behavioral counseling to clients in Midland, Odessa and surrounding counties. Therapist job duties will include conducting assessments, setting appropriate treatment goals, and providing individual, couple, family and group counseling for clients age three (3) and up. Full time counselors are required to maintain an average of 22 client contacts each week. Counselors must be capable of working with a wide variety of presenting issues, mental health diagnosis and client demographics. Additional work requirements include accurate, thorough documentation of all counseling sessions, maintenance of client files, providing appropriate referrals and fulfilling contract requirements of various referral sources. Counselors may also have opportunity to represent Centers at various community events or conduct specialized group/parenting classes. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work or marriage and family therapy is required. Counselor interns/associates will be required to complete requirements for full licensure. Position salaried and benefits eligible. Work schedule: Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Position Summary:
The Office Administrator & Bookkeeper will work closely with the Finance Director and Program Support Team to maintain agency financial records, ensure the efficient operation of the Midland clinic location, and provide support to the executive team. This position requires strong attention to detail, significant initiative for accomplishing tasks, and the ability to manage deadlines in multiple areas. A successful hire must be proficient in Microsoft Office (primarily Outlook, Word, and Excel), have bookkeeping experience (QuickBooks preferred), and be comfortable with quickly learning new software for daily use. Candidates must pass a standard background check prior to consideration for hire.

Duties & Responsibilities:
I. Bookkeeping & Data Management
Efficiently and accurately work within established systems and suggest improvements as identified.
a. Enter financial transactions into QuickBooks (including contribution revenue, program revenue, recurring monthly expenses, and incidental expenses) in a timely manner and according to agency financial practices.
b. Develop and execute efficient filing system, to include physical and digital documentation.
c. Maintain donor database (DonorPerfect) with updated donor contact information, contribution history, and contribution acknowledgement documentation.
d. Assist Program Support Team with client data management and statistical reporting (Credible EHR).

II. Office Coordination
Proactively facilitate smooth office functioning.
a. Manage incoming and outgoing mail daily.
b. Monitor and maintain orderly stock of necessary office and building supplies.
c. Coordinate facility maintenance and/or repair with external vendors in a timely manner.
d. Cross-train in facilitating daily clinic activities with Program Support Team.
III. Executive Team Support
Collaboratively assist a team of active and engaged executives.
a. Manage executive team calendars by scheduling appointments, providing reminders, and making travel arrangements.
b. Facilitate on-site meetings by preparing necessary space and materials, arranging for refreshments, receiving visitors, and taking minutes as needed.
c. Assist with employee benefits administration and new employee onboarding.
d. Assist with execution of special projects, including fundraising events, outreach activities, and annual audit – will require occasional schedule flexibility.

Qualifications
I. Experience & Proficiency
a. High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
b. Bookkeeping experience and/or formal accounting education; QuickBooks proficiency preferred.
c. Office administration experience and/or formal administration education.
d. English proficiency.
e. High level of general technology proficiency and Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel).
f. Donor database and/or electronic health record system experience preferred.

II. Skills & Abilities
a. Available to travel locally and ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.
b. High level of integrity, ability to maintain confidentiality, and ability to pass standard background check.
c. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
d. Able to quickly master new software and implement established systems.
e. Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
f. Time management and planning skills; must be prompt and prepared.
g. Able to collaboratively and maturely engage as a member of a team.

Additional Information
This is an office-based position in Midland, TX. Personal vehicle use is required for local travel during the workday. Candidates must be available Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and occasionally attend meetings or events after 6:00 p.m.

Pay Status/Benefits
The Office Administrator & Bookkeeper is a full-time, non-exempt position.
Centers employees enjoy paid holidays, generous personal time off allowances, and the potential for Fridays off. The agency pays up to 85% of monthly employee health insurance premiums and offers affordable vision, dental, voluntary life, and supplemental insurance coverage. After one year of employment, full-time employees may contribute to a group retirement plan with an agency match of up to 4%.
