Q. I am having trouble with my child’s subsidy. Who do I need to contact for help?

Adoption assistance is available to many families who have adopted children with certain special needs or meet certain qualifications to offset some of the costs of supporting these children. Q. My child receives SSI/SSDI and I need to update or make changes to it?

A. You will need to log in to your account on the Social Security Administration website (click here), or contact your local office to schedule and appointment (office locator). Q. Does my child qualify for Personal Care Services (PCS) through Medicaid? If so, what services are provided to the family?

A. Personal Care Services are a Medicaid benefit that helps clients with everyday tasks. These tasks are called Activities of Daily Living and Intrumental Activities of Daily Living. Q. We have an adopted child but live in a Region you do not cover or the adoption is from another state. What do I do?

A. Don’t worry. There is help available for you.

Federal law requires every state to provide Post Adoption Services. If you adopted your child from a state other than Texas, you must contact that state to enroll through their program. Just go to Google and search “Post Adoption Services in (State Name)”.

If you adopted a child through the State of Texas, but live in a Region we do not cover, please click on the link for your Region and it will direct you to the organization that can assist you and your family.
